Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in process, collecting necessary demographic and insurance information.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and updating patient charts.
- Assist physicians and nurses during clinical procedures, ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly prepared and sterilized.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and urine analysis, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Manage front desk administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, confirming visits, and verifying insurance coverage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for both patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Certification as a CMA, RMA, or NCMA is strongly preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical office setting.
