Responsibilities

  • Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic information, and update electronic health records (EHR) with accuracy.
  • Clinical Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
  • Vitals & Measurements: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
  • Phlebotomy & Lab: Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for lab tests, ensuring proper specimen handling and labeling.
  • Room Preparation: Prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Medication Management: Assist in medication reconciliation and patient education regarding prescribed treatments.
  • Administrative Support: Handle insurance verification, process referrals, and manage incoming calls professionally.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA certification.
