Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic information, and update electronic health records (EHR) with accuracy.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
- Vitals & Measurements: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Phlebotomy & Lab: Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for lab tests, ensuring proper specimen handling and labeling.
- Room Preparation: Prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Medication Management: Assist in medication reconciliation and patient education regarding prescribed treatments.
- Administrative Support: Handle insurance verification, process referrals, and manage incoming calls professionally.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in electronic health record systems (Epic, Athenahealth, or Cerner) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or Saturdays.
