Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS standards
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through appeals and documentation
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing protocols
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for documentation
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial analysis
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in physician practice or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, NextGen, Medisoft)
- Strong knowledge of insurance plans (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
