- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and underpayments through systematic follow-up
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper coding and documentation
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance metrics
- Update patient records with billing information and insurance changes
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes (Medicare, Medicaid, private)
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and billing software
- Strong analytical skills for identifying billing discrepancies
- Excellent communication abilities for patient and insurer interactions
- Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
