Responsibilities
- Review and submit clean medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Follow up on denied claims with appeals and resubmissions
- Maintain accurate patient account records and documentation
- Communicate with providers and patients regarding billing inquiries
- Analyze aging reports to ensure timely reimbursement
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and privacy regulations
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for claim processing
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience (physician or hospital preferred)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Expertise in claim scrubbing and denial management
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic/NextGen)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
