Responsibilities
- Verify and code medical records accurately according to ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit claims to insurance carriers and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries and payment arrangements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulations.
- Utilize billing software to generate reports and track revenue cycle performance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- CPC or RHIT certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or medical office administration.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
- Strong understanding of insurance verification and claims denial management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
