Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, manage check-in and check-out processes, and answer phones with a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments using electronic health records (EHR) systems and coordinate with medical providers to ensure optimal workflow.
- Administrative Support: Verify patient insurance eligibility, update medical records, and prepare patient charts for visits.
- Communication: Handle incoming calls, route them to the appropriate staff members, and provide basic patient information regarding office hours and services.
- Financial Tasks: Process payments, handle copays, and assist patients with billing inquiries in a respectful manner.
- Office Maintenance: Maintain the reception area, organize patient files, and ensure the front desk is stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Receptionist certification is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical front-desk or customer service role is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency and typing speed; familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and insurance processes.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
