Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical events accurately
- Manage inventory and sterilization processes per OSHA standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Maintain sterile environments and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience in general OR setting
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems
