Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing, verification, and inventory control systems
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software for inventory management and prescription tracking
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and maintaining departmental standards
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years of pharmacy experience preferred (new graduates encouraged)
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent; PTCB certification preferred
