Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, ensuring minimal discomfort and maximum safety.
- Strictly adhere to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and laboratory safety guidelines at all times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and ensure all specimen labels are legible and correct.
- Effectively communicate with patients to explain procedures, alleviate anxiety, and collect accurate patient history.
- Assist with the daily maintenance and restocking of phlebotomy equipment and laboratory supplies.
- Collaborate with laboratory technicians and nursing staff to ensure timely processing of specimens.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- Valid California State Phlebotomy License.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
