Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict aseptic protocols
- Ensure proper specimen labeling, handling, and transportation to maintain integrity
- Verify patient identity and provide clear pre/post-collection instructions
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and OSHA safety regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient flow and experience
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or CPT1)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in LIS/EHR systems and specimen processing protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings
