Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens ensuring chain of integrity compliance
- Maintain sterile equipment and exam rooms per OSHA standards
- Verify patient identities and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and infection control knowledge
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
