Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and transportation to labs
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Verify patient identity and provide clear pre/post-procedure instructions
- Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Collaborate with clinical team to optimize patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (or eligible)
- Minimum 6 months clinical experience in phlebotomy
- BLS/CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques across diverse demographics
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with patient-centered approach
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
