Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens according to laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies
- Provide exceptional patient education and emotional support
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or NHA)
- Minimum 6 months of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid Arizona driver's license for specimen transport
