Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA guidelines
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identity and test requisition accuracy
- Operate automated analyzers and point-of-care testing devices
- Document procedures and maintain electronic health records
- Collaborate with lab team to ensure timely specimen processing
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong understanding of OSHA and safety protocols
