Responsibilities
- Perform accurate blood collection procedures using venipuncture, capillary, and microtechniques
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for analysis
- Maintain detailed patient records and documentation
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Provide compassionate care to patients of all ages
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Virginia driver's license for specimen transport
