Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory while maintaining chain-of-custody protocols
- Verify patient identification and prepare equipment for blood draws
- Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to OSHA safety standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Provide patient education during blood collection processes
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient specimen handling
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from an accredited provider
- Excellent venipuncture skills and knowledge of anatomical landmarks
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
