Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Label, process, and transport specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Verify patient identification and prepare samples for laboratory analysis
- Ensure all equipment is sterilized and calibrated per safety protocols
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and pediatric techniques
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced diagnostic setting
