Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging instruments, and verifying supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory levels and order surgical supplies to ensure optimal OR readiness
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 2+ years of recent OR experience in general surgery specialties
- BLS certification and current Minnesota surgical tech license
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover varied surgical schedules
