Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure a comfortable environment.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
- Verify patient identity and medical history prior to collection.
- Update patient records and log data into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Specialist certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patient populations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
