Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and properly arranged
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed
- Maintain sterile fields throughout procedures and enforce strict aseptic techniques
- Count and document all surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps before and after surgery
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical equipment according to hospital protocols
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms with safety and dignity
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in surgical technology or sterile processing
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterilization techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments while maintaining composure
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Excellent communication skills and ability to function as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
