Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count and track surgical supplies before, during, and after operations
- Transport patients and position them correctly for surgical procedures
- Clean and sterilize instruments post-procedure using advanced autoclave systems
- Document all surgical activities in accordance with hospital protocols
- Restock operating rooms and ensure all equipment is functioning optimally
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of operating room experience
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical instrument handling
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current or obtainable within 30 days
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of OSHA and AORN standards for surgical settings
