Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operations by anticipating their needs and preparing instruments, sutures, and other supplies.
- Ensure the operating room is sterile and organized prior to procedures.
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during operations.
- Monitor and inventory surgical supplies to ensure adequate levels are maintained.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including sterilizing incision sites.
- Handle specimens for lab analysis accurately.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in compliance with hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical Technician (CST) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient movement.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
