Responsibilities

  • Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
  • Ensure accurate labeling, processing, and storage of blood specimens according to laboratory standards.
  • Greet patients warmly, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Update patient records accurately and maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing inventory of supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment in the collection area.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
