Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Ensure accurate labeling, processing, and storage of blood specimens according to laboratory standards.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Update patient records accurately and maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing inventory of supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment in the collection area.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment when necessary.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
