Responsibilities
- Preparation: Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to surgery.
- Assistance: Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile field.
- Sterilization: Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient data, surgical procedures, and instrument counts.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hospital infection control and safety protocols.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with the surgical team and nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and aseptic techniques.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment as needed.
