Responsibilities
- Prepare and arrange medical instruments and equipment in the operating room prior to surgery.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Monitor patient vitals and maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical process.
- Ensure proper sterilization, disinfecting, and maintenance of all surgical instruments and equipment.
- Position patients safely on the operating table and cover them with sterile drapes.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and procedural accuracy.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and standard surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
