Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for 15+ daily procedures
- Assist surgeons during complex operations including orthopedic and general surgery
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques per OSHA and AORN standards
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment sterilization processes
- Document procedure details accurately in EMR systems
- Train on new robotic-assisted surgical technologies
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless care transitions
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 1+ years of acute care OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification with current credentials
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- New Mexico surgical tech license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Experience with da Vinci surgical systems a plus
