Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to surgical requirements.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Maintain strict sterile techniques and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
- Count and account for all surgical instruments, sharps, and sponges before and after procedures.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and provide support during pre- and post-operative care.
- Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment, including sterilizers and laparoscopic devices.
- Document all activities and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred, or eligible for certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a surgical setting, preferably in a hospital.
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
