Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for diverse patient populations
- Label, process, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory
- Maintain strict infection control and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Provide patient education and emotional support during procedures
- Operate and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and centrifuges
- Document all procedures and patient information in EHR systems
- Collaborate with nurses and lab staff for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and pediatric draws
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- High school diploma or GED required
