Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, setting up instruments, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and managing sterile fields
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and adhere to OSHA and safety protocols
- Accountable for surgical counts and inventory management of instruments and supplies
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and provide pre/post-operative support
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons to optimize surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in a hospital setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and instrument handling
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and anatomical landmarks
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Current BLS certification
