Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for orthopedic, general, and specialty procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization protocols
- Transport patients and assist with positioning in OR suites
- Document case details and maintain equipment logs per hospital standards
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless surgical workflows
- Train on new surgical technologies and techniques quarterly
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 1+ years of scrub experience in ambulatory surgery centers
- Knowledge of AORN standards and sterile processing protocols
- BLS/CPR certification with ability to maintain throughout employment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for 8-hour shifts
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
