Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment according to protocol
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environment and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain inventory
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedure details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 1+ years of recent surgical tech experience preferred
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
