Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing and wound exposure
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Manage surgical equipment sterilization and inventory
- Document procedure details in electronic health records
- Transport patients and specimens between departments
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C)
- Minimum 1 year OR experience in general surgery specialties
- BLS/CPR certification through American Heart Association
- Kentucky Surgical Tech license (or eligible)
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Ability to stand 8+ hours with frequent bending/stooping
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Background check and drug screening required
