Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize care based on acuity using ESI protocols
- Provide expert medical advice via phone and telehealth triage systems
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Implement emergency response protocols for critical situations
- Educate patients on appropriate care pathways and home management
- Monitor patient flow and optimize department efficiency
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (CA RN)
- Minimum 2 years ER or urgent care experience
- TAS or ESI triage certification preferred
- ACLS/BLS certification required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English/Spanish
- Experience with Epic EHR systems
- Ability to work 12-24 hour shifts on flexible schedule
