Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques and compliance protocols
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, CLIA, and CAP standards for specimen handling
- Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment including automated analyzers
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and process optimization
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in high-volume settings
- CPR/BLS certification and ability to maintain it
- Demonstrated expertise in difficult venipuncture and pediatric collections
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology preferred
