Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Maintain sterile compounding areas and prepare IV medications following strict protocols
- Process insurance claims and manage patient records with HIPAA compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Utilize pharmacy management software for prescription processing and documentation
- Ensure compliance with Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain immediately)
- PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Minimum 1 year pharmacy experience in retail or hospital setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
