Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness, including checking for drug interactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, medication profiles, and inventory logs.
- Assist pharmacists with the compounding, dispensing, and labeling of medications.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA privacy standards.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions regarding medications and store policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug interactions.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
