Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and rotating pharmaceuticals
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Operate pharmacy technology including dispensing systems and automated counting devices
- Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and maintaining pharmacy cleanliness
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication safety protocols
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Rx30) and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy technician program graduate preferred
