Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise prescription documentation
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence protocols
- Ensure compliance with DEA, FDA, and Georgia Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy management software and automated dispensing systems
- Maintain sterile compounding areas and equipment per USP standards
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related inquiries
Qualifications
- Georgia Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- 1+ years retail/hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and pharmacy compliance protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
