Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with precision and adherence to safety protocols
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and conducting cycle counts
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) for prescription processing
- Support immunization services and health screenings when applicable
Qualifications
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, team-oriented setting
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and prescription abbreviations
