Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound specialized preparations
- Verify patient information and medication dosages before dispensing
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Maintain precise patient records and medication profiles in pharmacy software
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Ensure compliance with all state pharmacy regulations and HIPAA guidelines
- Process insurance claims and third-party billing efficiently
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on department protocols
Qualifications
- Active NC Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records
