Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound pharmaceutical preparations under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and maintain electronic health records with HIPAA compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software (Omnicell, QS1)
- Prepare sterile products and chemotherapy medications in compliance with USP 797 standards
- Participate in medication reconciliation and patient education initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification in Maryland (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic dispensing systems
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
