Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise prescription documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with all FDA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy management systems and automated dispensing equipment
- Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
