Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage for all prescriptions
- Maintain proper inventory management and stock rotation protocols
- Process third-party insurance claims and manage billing documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software
- Assist with sterile compounding and IV preparations when required
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Texas State Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
