Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing cycle counts to ensure medication availability.
- Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries and provide outstanding customer service at the pharmacy counter.
- Handle controlled substances in strict accordance with DEA regulations and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to streamline workflows and improve patient care outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner).
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
