Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescriptions following state and federal regulations
- Manage inventory control, including ordering and stock rotation of pharmaceuticals
- Process insurance claims and maintain accurate patient medication records
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and potential side effects
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure optimal patient care and safety protocols
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality of patient information
- Operate pharmacy technology systems including electronic dispensing equipment
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician license or certification eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication safety protocols
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and inventory systems
- Excellent communication skills with ability to educate diverse patient populations
