Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately prepare and fill prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring correct dosages and medications.
- Patient Interaction: Provide excellent customer service to patients by answering questions regarding medications, providing counseling, and processing payments.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory to ensure the pharmacy is always well-stocked.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance benefits and process claims to minimize out-of-pocket costs for customers.
- Quality Control: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area, adhering to all state and federal health regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current registration or certification as a Pharmacy Technician (e.g., CPhT) required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills for calculating dosages.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and medical staff.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols.
