Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, compound, and dispense medications according to prescription orders
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Utilize pharmacy software for prescription processing and patient records
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical tasks and medication reviews
- Maintain strict compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and maintaining department standards
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years of pharmacy experience in a retail or hospital setting
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Background check and drug screening required
