Role Overview:
As a Pharmacy Technician at Apex Healthcare, you will be the backbone of our pharmacy operations. You will work closely with pharmacists to ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of medications to our patients. Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing according to established protocols and safety standards.
- Verify prescription accuracy, including dosage, drug interactions, and patient information.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist customers with medication questions and provide excellent customer service.
- Process insurance claims and handle financial transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of sterile intravenous (IV) medications when certified.
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage forms.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
