Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy, checking for drug interactions and contraindications.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications, dosages, and side effects.
- Process insurance claims and handle patient billing inquiries efficiently.
- Assist in the compounding of medications when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace in adherence to state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Current PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of pharmacy software and inventory management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
